Disabled email message

I am trying to help my mom out. She has an att.net email address and uses Currently.com to access her email.  Recently all of her emails have been kicked back to me with the message below.   However the emails are going through to her. We know this is happening to others also as she gets letters from companies asking for her updated email.

I have also noticed that if she sends me an email and I hit reply - it changes the recipient address to yahoo.com.  I have checked her email settings and changed her password.  Trying to understand what is happening.

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

< _________ @yahoo.com>:
554: 30 Sorry, your message to   __________     @yahoo.com cannot be delivered. This mailbox is disabled (554.30).

You need to:

  1. log into the mail box,
  2. click on Settings (gear),
  3. click on More Settings,
  4. click on Mailboxes
  5. click on the mailbox name under Mailbox list
  6. fix the Reply-to address on the right side
  7. click on Save.

If the reply-to address does contain the correct address, then apparently what is set up is forwarding to the other address, which is no longer part of the settings.  Support would have to blank that out for you.

We're happy to help with your email concern, @weimar_10.

Please give us more information so we can get started:

  • Is your mom also unable to receive email or is the issue just with sending?
  • Has she tried using a different mail client to send email (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.)?

We'll be awaiting your response.

She receives the email with no issue.  It is only the sender who receives the message.  No, we have not tried any other mail clients. She is 86, so we try to stay with what she knows.

This worked perfectly! It appears somehow a forward to yahoo.com was in the mailbox settings.  Thank you so much!
