Cannot access sbcglobal.net email address

I cannot access my sbcglobal.net email address. I keep getting re-directed to an att sign in page and my email account is not there so I can't sign in.

We can help with your email problem, @neveser.

We were tracking a few login problems with Currently.com and ATT.net last month, but it looks like those have been fixed. If you’re still getting redirected, this is likely an issue with your web browser. Try checking out this guide for some specific troubleshooting tips. You may have to troubleshoot your web browser: the best way is to update it, disable third party add-ons, or clear the cache and cookies.

We’d also recommend resetting your email password. That should refresh your account, and may fix the login problem. If it’s tied to active AT&T services (phone, internet, TV, etc.), you may be able to login to your account at ATT.com and reset your email password using MyAT&T.

We’re here to help, @neveser, please let us know if you have any additional questions!

Genevieve - all the links you refer to point to att. I don't have an account there. My email account is easily 10+ years old and I've gone through these issues before but have been able to find a link that works in the past. Now the link I had saved no longer works. I was signed in and then I was asked to sign again after 2 weeks. When I tried, I got redirected to that att sign in that doesn't work for me since my account is not there.

I did find this - https://digitallocker.att.net but it no longer works. I had used that in the past but it's gone now.

I don't know the complete story on my email address. It was merged then unmerged and now it's in a weird hidden place by whoever owns it now. I just want a dependable, reliable place to login. I can use Thunderbird on one of my machines and I can access the email but I can't install Thunderbird on all the machines I use. My phone app works so I can still see the email but that is not at all optimal since I do so much work on the computer. If I can't find a reliable login then I'll need to change my primary address which is not something I want to do. 10+ years of logins - bank, credit cards, bills, family, friends, school, work, shopping... that's a lot of changing of passwords I'd have to do.

The email I'm trying to access is the one I signed up here with.

When I try and use the att or Currently login I'm redirected to an att sign in page.  When I try to login I get an error. The account is not there to log into.

Tried 4 browsers, private browsing, clear cache... none of that will work when  I don't have a link to sign into where my account actually is.

I'm not alone in this issue. My Dad had it happen to him a few months ago (as did I) but I found a link that worked. Now that link redirects to att so it's been 'corrupted" so to speak. Searching the internet for this issue yields many results. Problem is all the solutions are out of date.

Hello again @neveser,

Bellsouth.net emails will actually use ATT.net or Currently.com to sign in (both websites lead to the same place). Even though it brings you to an AT&T login page, it should still allow access to your email. That web portal is built to support Bellsouth.net emails. Can you let us know the specific error you’re getting when you try to sign in on ATT.net?

Thanks for letting us know the steps you’ve taken. Have you tried resetting your password? In addition, we did write a specific troubleshooting resource for Bellsouth.net emails. It has a lot of the same information from the previous guides, but it’s still good to check out in case there’s a step or two you may have missed.

Also, just as an FYI, we did try checking digitallocker.att.net, and it loads for us in both a regular browser and an Incognito window. However, it does redirect to this login page. We'd still recommend signing in directly though ATT.net, but you can also check to see if that page still works for you.

Get back to us at your own pace, @neveser, we’re here to help.

When I try to log in at att or Currently, I get this (which is strange since it was the first time I tried today)  and the same error after trying a second time today (about 4-5 hours apart) -

There have been too many failed sign in attempts. To get help, please use Forgot user ID or Forgot password links.
CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

If I try to reset my password through the att site, I get this -

That info doesn’t look quite right. Try again.

When I select 'forgot user ID' I enter my email and I do get a response, both my email and userID are the same (my email address). I can't do anything with it though. (See above errors)

That link you posted (the last one 'redirect to this login page') looks like the correct log in.  But when I log in there it just spins for a bit then I get this error -
We're sorry. We cannot process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. For more information, please Contact Us.

Hey there @neveser,

It looks like the system registered too many login attempts. You were in the right spot, but you’ll likely need to wait twenty-four hours for the account lock to clear before attempting to login again.

Given how this has gone for you so far, we would probably recommend using an Incognito window to try to reset your password before your next login attempt. Hopefully that last password reset will finally get you back in.

We’ll be here, @neveser. Please let us know how it goes. We'll be keeping an eye out for your response.

I'm not sure I want or need to reset my password. I have it and it works for Thunderbird and my phone (and tablet). I can view my account details in Thunderbird and see the password so I know it's logged in with it. I know it's working because I'm getting email notifications that this thread is being updated. I've also been getting emails all day long. I think resetting my password at this point puts me at risk of losing access to my mailbox completely. I just need the correct log in page for my account. I'll wait 24 hours and try again tomorrow afternoon. A 24 hour lockout period seems extreme to me though. Normally it would be 15 minutes, maybe an hour. I'm not sure waiting 24 hours will help, but we'll see. That's all I can do at this point.

I ended up waiting until today to try and log in. I tried to login using a private window and got this error -

There have been too many failed sign in attempts. To get help, please use Forgot user ID or Forgot password links.

CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

I would think 48 hours would be more than enough for the account to unlock. Clearly there's something else going on.

I went ahead and tried to reset my password and was able to.

Good news... I'M IN!!!

Not sure the message about too many logins was the correct one to display. That's very misleading. A message to reset my password would have been far better and would have actually helped.

Thanks for your help.
