Cannot access my att.net mailbox

I receive 205.2 error when I try to access my att.net mailbox on ANY computer.  I have already read all the entries related to this topic.  It asks for my security answers which I recorded elsewhere and know them to be correct.  It does NOT give me the choice of receiving a temporary password.  I am not an AT&T customer and received this email address probably 25 years ago when I was a customer.  I know I still receive emails because it is active on my phone but I never sign out from it.  I am totally unable to receive my emails elsewhere.  Please please please help.  I am a physician in the NICU and have documents I cannot retrieve.

We suggest that you reset your password:

  1. Go to http://sm.att.com/5796e1d0.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

After you reset your password, we suggest that you wait a full 24 hours before you log back into your email. This will make sure that it fully resyncs your account.

 

If this doesn't work, we have some questions to clarify some information:

  • Is this email tied to an active AT&T account? We need to know this because we have some limitations on what we can do with free email accounts?
