Can send but cannot receive emails

I have an att.net email address that I have not regularly used in the last year.  I verified I can send emails but it will not allow incoming emails.  I have tried sending/receiving to several different email addresses, I have used old and brand new devices. The error comes back to the sender as a Failure Notice..<email address> 550:5.2.1 <email address>... blank mailhost.

How do i fix?

Hi @Emailuser5,

Let's help you correct the email issue.

Are you able to log into webmail to view your inbox? We recently made some security enhancements that require you to set up a secure mail key if you are using a desktop app or third-party client that does not have the Open Authentication feature.

You can also check your email server setting here to ensure the email is set up correctly.

Hope this helps, please let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks,

He can login.  He can send email.  However, email sent to his address from outside ATT bounce.  I have the same issue.

SMTP error from remote server for RCPT TO command, host: al-ip4-mx-vip2.prodigy.net (144.160.235.144) reason: 550 5.2.1

... blank mailhost - invalid address, relay=[74.208.4.200]

This is still an issue, and email from within the AT&T 'family', eg SNET.NET also bounces.  At least it's consistent!

This is definitely an issue with the server since it bounces the mail before any client gets to see it.
