Block a website

Recently, I received a message box when I opened up ActiveArmor. The message was there was a website that could be malware. It gave me two choices to close, or to proceed anyway. If I want to block that website, do I choose close or do I choose Proceed anyway?

Hey @Leruck, we understand that you have concern with active armor blocking website. We’re glad to help.

To answer your questions,

Active armor helps you to detects and blocks harmful website links to protect you from malware and phishing attempts.

For any website you want to visit that is determined to be unsafe, you should receive a warning about the danger before you connect to the website. To gain access to the website, simply ignore the warning and connect anyway.

If you have AT&T ActiveArmor Internet Security, here's how to stop that webpage block for a page you trust:

  • You can select Allow Access to add the site to the exceptions list in Smart Home Manager.

Good to know: When you add a page to the exceptions list, you won’t be warned about future threats from that page.

You'll find these details and more under the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS at Learn about AT&T ActiveArmor internet security.

Let us know if this helps.

Hey @Leruck,  thank you for writing back to us, we’re here to get the help you need.

We recommend you to click on “close” and also you can check our guide on how to set up content filters. It's easily done through Smart Home Manager and is the best way to do so.

  1. From Profiles, scroll to Advanced Content Controls.
  2. Choose Content filters or Web filters.
  3. Follow the prompts to control web content for this profile (only available on a limited basis).

Let us know if this helps.
