Monday, July 27th, 2020 10:24 PM email not working with gMail and secure mail key

the, are not accepting the normal email password AND/OR the new secure mail key that was created using instructions from the ATT support article:


this is being done using Gmail's "Check mail from other account" which used to work a few days ago...

Error reading mail.

Lets get your email issue resolved @joemig!


We would recommend going through the Secure Mail Key setup  again to see if the issue is with the secure key setup.


We also have an article that goes over the email settings. And since you have tried POP, try using IMAP instead and see if that works.


If you need to check the settings for your Gmail account, here are some steps from Gmail help center page:

  1. On your computer, sign in to the Gmail account you want to import to.
  2. In the top right, click Settings and then See all settings.
  3. Click the Accounts and import tab.
  4. In the "Check mail from other accounts" section, click Add a mail account.
  5. Type the email address of the other account, then click Next.
  6. Make a selection and click Next.
  7. Type your password.
  8. Recommended: Check the boxes next to the options below:
    • "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail"
    • "Label incoming messages"
    • Leave the other boxes unchecked.
  9. Click Add Account.
