Attachments not showing up even though they are indicated as existing

Today, I received an email that was supposed to have an attachment. The main menu indicated that it had an attachment. When I looked at the individual message, there was no attachment. This has never happened to me, as far as I know, before. How do I get the attachment. I am using Chrome. I already tried forwarding the message, but it did not forward any attachment. What do I do?

If it isn't there I see no way of recovering it.  You could try relaunching your browser but I am not sure anything will change.  Assuming the attachment size was less than 25M why not just ask the sender to send it again?
