What is AT&T doing to help me stay connected throughout the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic?

I work for a school system and we are one of many in GA considering closing for 2 weeks due to COVID-19. Are there any considerations given by AT&T on data limits for students who will take on digital learning at home for 2 weeks or more? Rather than being on the internet at home for 2 or 3 hours a day, they will be on for 7 or more. Data limits will be reached and I want to know if you are going to suspend overage charges.

That means new and existing AT&T Fiber and AT&T Internet customers can use unlimited data and won’t see overage charges on their home Internet bill through September 30.

@ATTCommunityTeam due to COVID-19 can I be sure that my AT&T TV will not be discontinued for 60 days like the other services you offer. I am out of work due to the pandemic but I am expecting unemployment within the next week or two and I will pay my balance then

@ATTCommunityTeam I’m having a hard time with you guys hooking me up with service. You took away DSL because you ran fiber but you won’t hook up fiber. You won’t let me have DSL or fiber you left me with no Internet options. Now my kids need Internet for school because of the COVID-19. ‬

I saw this on the ATT.com homepage under "COVID-19 - Our Response

"March 12, 2020

Many of our AT&T Internet customers already have unlimited home internet access, and we are waiving internet data overage for the remaining customers. Additionally, through Access from AT&T we’ll continue to offer internet data to qualifying limited income households for $10 a month."

How will this work? Will it also cover those who have use a ZTE Homebase and have wireless home internet plan that is capped? I am being asked to work from home and will reach my cap earlier than expected.

Thanks

Hi @dpd128,

The removal of the internet cap only applies for home internet wireline customers, as well as Fixed Wireless Internet. You can stay up to date about everything we are doing during this time at our response page.

So, this happened:

“As of March 13, 2020, and for the next 60 days, we will waive domestic wireless plan overage charges for data, voice or text for residential or small business wireless customers incurred because of economic hardship related to the coronavirus pandemic.”

If I read this correctly, those of us with a wireless home phone and internet plan are included in this statement. If so, thanks AT&T!

I’m trying to extend my payment arraignment by 5 days because I couldn’t pick up my paycheck today due to the schools in Montgomery County, PA closing due to the Coronavirus. This is completely out of my hands. I’m being told by a rep and a support mgr that there is nothing they can do. I find it hard to believe that AT&T is going to turn off the phone of a long term loyal customer during a National State of Emergency. I’ve received a handful of communications from banks and insurance companies saying they understand and will do anything to help with financial burndens at this time by extending due dates.

Sorry to say but I believe what you were told to is true. Payment arrangements can’t be extended, even by a senior supervisor even if you could get ahold of one.

I was told by two Sr. Reps that there was nothing AT&T could do and that my service would be terminated a day or two after the date of the payment arraignment, if i didn't make the payment. Considering the circumstances, there was no possible way for me to not be able to have a phone with a pandemic rapidly evolving so I used the rest of the money I had to make the payment, money I should have used towards food to hold me over during this coronavirus. Then I find out AT&T won't be suspending services during this time. I just wish the Sr. Reps had been told by the higher ups about the commitment sooner.

I don't know why the internal memo is not being circulated. AT&T has made it public as of Friday but no one would be disconnected from their TV internet or cellular service for the next 60 days are regardless of their inability to pay their postpaid bills

And AT&T was the first ISP to take the cap off home internet service. (I was wishing I had AT&T, fortunately Cox followed on Monday)

I am the sole parent and caregiver of a special needs child with severe autism. The school just notified me they are not in session, probably through Spring break if not the rest of the year. Can we get our ATT bill postponed, credited, or reduced since I will not be able to work?

AT&T is participating in the FCC's Keep American Connected pledge during the COVID-19 crisis... you can Google more information. This pledge includes delayed disconnects and foregoing some late fees, in an effort to keep customers connected during trying times. If you're saying that AT&T should give you stuff for free just because bad things are happening, that's another story. If companies continue providing products and quit collecting money owed them, the companies will suffer and possibly fail, which means all of their employees will be at risk to loss of income. Such loss of income on a national scale will hasten the decline of the economy. My own company has made adjustments to billing policies that are intended to make it possible for our clients to continue doing business with us- not just to give a "free ride" because times are tough.

AT&T has publicly pledged not to disconnect anyone or charge late fees for 60 days.
This is not a waiver of charges for postpaid customers, it is just a break for 60 days so you can get caught up
