trying to get better internet at home, live only a couple of block from possible ATT lines.

I live only a couple of blocks away from a street that has multiple orange and white poles labeled ATT cable line. I am trying to get better internet, but ATT keeps telling me no residential service available. I eventually had to to register under my business to get even dsl internet.

I want to know why even though there are ATT lines only a couple block away i can not get better that dsl internet?

and for any ATT reps that see this, the town i live in is in desperate need for good internet connections especially with all the distance learning our children are having to do.

Distance based services...

What is the best speed you can receive?

The data cap of the service?

LEGACY DSL is being phased out, has a 150G cap with no unlimited opton.

Uverse based internet upgrade from 2006 to end 2015 offer either ADSL2+ with best speed of 18 or less, up is 1 or less. About 20 million addresses.

VDSL FTTN offers speeds from 25, 50, 75 or 100 as single or bonded pair depending on copper loop after the fiber VRAD and cards in the VRAD and pairs available to the serving terminal with about 27 million addresses available.

The most recent FTTP direct fiber from 2016 to late 2019 reaches over 14 million addresses with speeds up to 1000.

Fiber poles in the ground are simply markers identify location in case of construction, digging crews to warn of potential damage. The fiber could be for cell towers, business, schools, government, hospital, or residential service at a different location of apartment, condo complexes or single family subdivisions.

About 80% of all addresses within ATT 21 state footprint has UVERSE based internet which has a 1T data cap unless meet one of the three requirements for unlimited.

In the words of realtors... location, location, location. If not happy with current options / choices may wish to consider a different location.

25% of all fiber addresses are MDU (multi dwelling units) of apartment / condo complexes...

current service is 6mbps with no limit due to being a business service, no residential option for service at all.

so your basically telling me that since ATT has a monopoly on the area I live in, you feel entitled to tell me that if I do not like the unavailability of service, to sell my house, pack up me and my family, business and move to another location that is more convenient for you?

I think I need to send a letter to the better business bureau and to my state rep.

There is an entire town here that has no access or limited access to internet and your solution is for us to move......
