My room is suddenly a dead zone!

Hello,

I had at&t/uverse installed in our home quite recently october/november. It hasn't been until last month where the internet, especially in my room has gone downhill, but for my laptop specifically. My laptop runs on Windows 10, and i've done everything I could to try to fix the internet in terms of the router. The internet only seems to work when I'm very close or in the same room as the router. The room where it is a complete dead zone is only the room next to the router, same level and everything. It started as only certain corners of my room having connection (extremely poor but existent), to nothing at all now. I used someone else's laptop in my room, and their laptop recognizes the 5G network and it works fine, whereas mine doesnt recognize 5G and works terribly. I never had issues with my internet until last month, and I'm extremely upset and tired. I shouldn't have to pay for non-existent wifi or a wifi extender.

My laptop never had issues previously. The only reason why other devices work in my room is because those devices recognize the 5G network, and mine doesn't. The person who installed AT&T in our home said that was normal, and my internet was fine using the other network until recently. I feel like I shouldn't have to buy anything to mask the problem. I just want my internet back as it used to be.
