My internet speed is at 5MB in my area and it’s horrible

I use to use xfininity but I’ve recently switched because of their constant overcharging. I’ve had Att uverse before and the internet was great until recently. I have 5 people in the house that use internet for college purposes and other things. So tell me how can 5 people share 3-5 MB of data?! I’ve called over 3 times and been to an Att store it’s always the same answer. My area only has 3MB top speed?! Doesn’t make sense because Xfinity had better data for our area coverage up to 150 MBs. If this doesn’t get resolved I’d rather be overcharged with good internet than undercharged with terrible internet. Can anyone find a solution to this or should I just cancel my plan?
