We're here to address your internet service request, @Betty888.

When it come to getting AT&T internet service, there are several factors that affect whether or not service is available to you. Here are a few reasons why we may not service your area:

Why AT&T Internet is not available

  1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.
  2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.
  3. The area is not built for U-verse – some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.
  4. Another competitor services the area - This happens from time to time but it does not mean all services are not available to you.

If you'd like to be notified in the future if AT&T internet becomes available at your address, you can head on over to our availability page and sign up for text notifications for when the service becomes available.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums.

communities will go in contract with- a provider which means other providers cannot come in and provide service this is the fault of your condo association, apartment complex HOA etc

The rumor is that competition pays off condominium board members in USA to keep AT&T away.???

The only facts you will receive are legitimate possible reasons why it may not be available, as has been posted. AT&T is over the next several years adding to new areas and even upgrade a few existing. The specific details are not provided to the public as internal use only.

Instead of focusing on rumors, find an internet provider who is available. Otherwise move to where AT&T is.

In my case, the reason we can't get AT&T,  is because a competitor rules the area, and it's their turf

I presently have Cox Cable, and the only thing they're successful at, is proving the earth is flat. (Edited per community guidelines)

Those would be the 4 general answers, not necessarily everything under the sun. If you knew about Cox being the area's provider before you came to the forum, then yes you answered your own question.

However, if you just took the possible answers and used process of elimination, then you have a very possible though not guaranteed answer.

In either case, the "why" makes no difference. If you are so adamant that you must have AT&T and nobody else, you either wait (possibly years if ever) for them to service the area, or you move to where they are available. The providers have no obligation to explain themselves to your liking.

I'm guessing there is a removed post somewhere as nobody is named "Robin" in this thread.
