Internet unavailability

Not sure why my parents are still "UNABLE" to get High Speed Internet. Been asking yearly about this and never get a straight answer from AT&T. They live 10 mins in the countryside from the closest city. Which has High Speed Internet btw. When are they ever going to expand?? With 5G starting to roll out and everything starting to be digital. Doesn't make since. Able to get Direct TV but are forced to settle with a hotspot for internet??

Hey, @Anthosj390.

We can understand your parents' desire for faster internet, and we'd be glad to explain why faster internet service isn't available in that area.

Due to a lack of facilities and equipment, there's no way to roll out high speed internet to all rural customers, distance plays a key roll in internet availability and 10 minutes in the country side is too far from the internet lines.

For more details on why internet service may be unavailable in their area and ways you can look into getting it available, we'd recommend checking out our article on AT&T Internet Availability in your area.

Let us know if you have anymore questions, we'd be glad to answer them!
