Internet Speed
I cannot seem to find anywhere what the download and upload speeds are supposed to be for ATT internet. I'm clocking in at a blistering 4.25 Mbps download and 0.25 Mbps upload speed. For what we're paying, this is unacceptable. 4.25 down is... fine; good for one person on one device viewing a single video or whatever. But 0.25 up borders on non-functional. Why is it like this? Is this the intention of ATT?

I'm using a wired connection. This article only talks about how to improve a wireless connection. I am also very often the only person using it. I live in a low population density area so interference isn't an issue. The gateway has been replaced and reset multiple times (which has had NO effect on the speed). I'm not sure what exact package we have but, no matter what it is, the speeds should not be this slow, especially the upload speed.

Have you checked to see if you have any problems when connected wirelessly, to rule out a faulty Ethernet cord?
Also, some of our lower tier internet packages are capped at 1 MBPS upload speed, so it is not uncommon to see sub-1 MBPS upload speeds on Internet Basic plans with maximum download speeds from 1.5 MBPS to 10 MBPS.
We recommend checking out our Troubleshoot & Resolve tool for personal network diagnostics and recommended solutions, if you haven't already.
