Internet Speed Problem

I'm starting this post for a friend because there Internet is so bad lately that it just sad, apparently it has been like this through Spectrum and now has continued through ATT. Whats worse is nether companies tried to do anything about it, they just come and reset everything and say that's all we can do. They say its the wiring in the house but I'm pretty sure that's not how internet works. If there is a need for a new Coaxial cable then I"m pretty sure that is the responsibility of the provider to provide? They are paying for internet and they are getting dialup for months and months now. Does this look like a speed that AT&T should be proud of providing their customer?

It would be very unlikely that both ISPs would have the same exact problem. Most likely something is wrong in the house. Do all devices get the same slow speed? Can you take a known good working laptop over to your friends house and plug in directly to the modem using an ethernet cable and test the speed? That would tell you where the problem lies.

What speed tier subscribed to?

There are many including lower tiers, some examples for ATT depending on service type and distance.... 1000, 500, 300, 100, 75, 50, 25, 18, 10, 5, 3, 1.5 and .76

Next is your listed as being in Kentucky but testing to Miami... Try using speedtest.net testing to a local ATT server within 100 miles, hardwired preferred.
