internet speed help

I was wondering if it was possible to get any faster internet speeds via dsl? When I purchased the plan I was told that peak was 3mbps. I was aware that I would never reach peak but I was hoping that I could reach 2Mbps download.But even with just one device on the internet I am unable to reach those speeds, but that is also a problem because in my household there is never just one device on it at a time. the fastest I am able to reach is 0.87 Mbps and that is with 2 devices on the Wi-Fi. any help is appreciated thanks in advanced
