Internet availability

I moved to a rural area but I had done my research via my relator. I was told AT&T internet was available. Now I am told it is not and that they are upgrading to provide better service. That was 2 years ago. I am simply looking for a straight answer of when, if ever will I receive some kind of service. I live in Lee county Ga off of Pinewood. That should be enough information for an answer

if your zip code is different then enter that....

Rural setting, likely the previous internet was ATT LEGACY DSL, best speed 6 with 150G data cap, $10/50G overage charges.

Legacy is being prepared to be shut down, no new accounts being allowed.... therefore your choice from ATT will likely be wireless internet either as part of the 1.1 million addresses within 18 states by end 2020 for FIXED WIRELESS or as a mobility offering from ATT cell store using a "hotspot" service. Both are cell tower based with future 5G offering even faster speeds.

Possible future deployment of PROJECT AIRGIG may offer another wireless option.

Check the link above for ISPs by zip codes.

someplace in Georgia is a testing area for Project Airgig

Last year, we launched a trial of Project AirGig technology in Georgia with Georgia Power and have been encouraged by the results. In that trial, we provided a fixed wireless application to a number of participating homes. It used a combination of mmWave and LTE spectrum.

this is a customer forum not at&t unfortunatly until the availability website says its available no one can tell you when, the reason for this is well exactly what happened when your realtor told you it was available there and gave you false information and hopes.

While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.
