We are happy to help you Troubleshoot your AT&T Internet, @freemaku.

We suggest that you use our Smart Home Manager app. This allows you to check your network performance by measuring the speed AT&T is currently delivering to your Wi-Fi gateway.

Let us know if these options are helpful to you. We are here to provide any further assistance.

Thanks,  but that reply has absolutely nothing to do with my post. This isn't my post so I don't know why I'm included.

We can help, @freemaku.

Try refreshing your equipment online, this may allow you to register a new device. You should also be prompted to delete existing devices in order to add a new one during the set up. Let us know if this online method works for you. Thank you.

Thanks. Tried refreshing (and woke there could see the 5 devices currently register to my dvr, including the old ones in trying to delete). After  I refresh I went back to the phone I'm trying to register with my DVR. Again got a prompt that I have too many devices and I need to delete one before I can register my new 1. I select 1 to delete it then tries for a long time in the goes back to an error message that says "we cannot connect to your dvr. Please try again (100).

Hi @freemaku, we are delighted to help.

If refreshing didn’t fix the problem, try restarting your receiver by pressing the red reset button. Learn more about restarting your DIRECTV receiver.

  • If you do run into an error with your DIRECTV DVR or Receiver, reset your Genie’s connectionreturn your equipment or anything else that you might need to get back on track.

Let us know if this helps.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!

I’ve already done the reset option. That doesn’t work.

@freemaku, Let try to get to more detail for your concern.

To register, make sure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your receiver and:

  1. Open the DIRECTV App on your device.
  2. Select Watch on phone/tablet (or applicable device).
  3. Select Watch Your DVR.
  4. Choose the My Downloads tab.
  5. On the registration page, select Get Started and follow the prompts.

Tip: If you have trouble registering your device, confirm access to external devices on your receiver.

  • Go to Settings > Whole-Home > External Device > External Access > Allow.

Let us know if this helps.

Feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for Patience and contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!

I appreciate that you're trying to help,  and I'm sure you have plenty of folks that don't do a lot of trials on their own.

Everything you're recommending I've tried.  I need help beyond what someone can figure out on their own.
