Increase upload speed

How can I increase upload speeds? My download speed is over 16.0 but my upload speed hovers around 0.70 or less.

Thanks for the info.  The problem I have is my child is in an online virtual charter school and their computers require an upload speed minimum of 2.0.

Our download speed is sufficient. I need to find some way to have an increased upload speed.

Hi @Smid57

Some ways to increase upload speed are to use a wired connection, not running too many devices at a given time, updating device drivers, making sure there's no malware on any of your devices, and clearing out temporary files. Have you already tried any of these methods to boost the speed?

I have tried all of them except the wired connection. The tech that set it up has the modem/router in the bedroom which is not conductive to his virtual school set up unless I run a cable approximately 30 feet.

Hi @Smid57

That's an option or you can try moving the router closer to where your child will be working.

Hello @Smid57

Please let us know if you're able to increase your upload speeds by using a wired connection or moving your router closer to him for a stronger signal.

We look forward to your reply!

@ATTHelp Hello, I am having the same issue. My mother is using the discounted internet program since she qualifies and the download speed is great at 10 mbps but the upload speed is around 0.7 and 0.65. I also tried what you suggested above and the speed remained the same for upload. My mother needs faster upload speed like around 3.0 mbps for a clearer HD Zoom calls with her family especially during the pandemic. Will my mother have to pay more money to have her upload speed increased from 0.7 to 3.0 mbps?

how to increase the download speed? My download speed is 100 and upload is 800.  We do not upload file at all.   I try to configure the AT& T router but can't find the function. Thanks!
