Help me if you can Salemen lied to us or didn't know the correct answer?

On 10/11/17 my saleman told me we had fiber on the pole then I verified what he said by asking the question again "we have fiber on the pole outside our house" he said yes. I verified this because the last time I was on ATT I found out I was on the end of the line and that is why the ATT DSL would not work for us reliably. The node "connection to server" is 5000 feet away from our house and when we had dsl the ATT service truck was always at my house. I signed the contract thinking I had fiber coming to our house and when I was coming home from work I saw the ATT truck on 10/24/17 working on the pole. I walked over and ask what he was doing he explained he was changing the line out it was old. I told him that the line he was putting in didn't look like fiber optics. He explained it wasn't that it was copper I then realized I had be told a lied. I really think this is a bad contract for ATT and me and being some what of an IT guy I know that copper will have about four to five  drops before it get to the node, and I will have the same problems as before. I really like ATT my mother retired with them and I have cousins that work for them now.

Please I wanted to go with ATT but I know with out the fiber to my house it will not work. When ATT does have fiber optics on the pole "single mode" the connection will work reliably then, and I will be the first to sign up again. Until then you as a company needs to look back in your records of time I was with you on DSL and let me out of the contract that I signed.

I need my signal to work all of the time because I use the internet to connect to connect to work when there are problems there. there
