Gift Card Scam Alert!!

I signed up for AT&T internet service in July 2023 and was eligible for $250 in rewards. The rewards were a major factor in my decision to go with AT&T over Xfinity. I followed the instructions to claim the rewards in Target gift cards (3 cards - $50, $150, $50) that were supposed to be mailed to me. It's been 3 1/2 months now, and I have still not received the gift cards that were supposedly issued. I called AT&T four times to inquire about the reward cards, each time spending over an hour on the phone. No one really seemed to know what to do to help and I would be bounced between different departments.  This was especially frustrating because the new person would have no idea what I was calling about and I'd have to explain the whole situation all over again. 

 

During my most recent call, I was told that they cannot issue the cards again and they cannot credit my account because I was issued reward cards. I never received the rewards - sounds like a scam to me!

The rewards played a big part in my decision to select AT&T, without them, I am considering making a different choice.

Fiona was able to get my account credited $200. I am appreciative of her assistance. I do wonder why it took reaching out via the forum to resolve this. Why weren't any of the AT&T people I spoke with on the phone able to do this same thing?

We recommend that you please check your spam folder, as there is a possibility that the reward email might have gone to spam folder.

 

Also, you can find and claim your AT&T reward by visiting our AT&T Reward Center home page. There is an option to search by claim number or by entering your account number and zip code.

  • Within 6 weeks of activating and maintaining your service, you will receive notification via email or letter with instructions on how to redeem your reward.
  • Once you’ve claimed your reward, met the service requirement, if any on your offer and your active service has been confirmed, most customers receive their reward within three weeks. This may be up to nine weeks from your installation / activation date. You can obtain a real-time status for your rewards at the AT&T Reward Center.
  • Visit our AT&T Rewards FAQ for common questions in regard to your rewards card. 

Reward expiration dates vary by promotion, so please take note of the claim by date shown on your reward notification email or letter and on the reward tracker for your reward. In general, you will have a minimum of 30 days to claim your reward from the time you receive notification. For reward-related questions, please call of Rewards Support team at 800-288-9983 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (CST), Monday through Friday.

I have claimed the rewards and have the claim numbers. The problem is that I have not received the cards. I have spent at least 6 hrs on the phone with AT&T support trying to get this resolved.

Just give a call to our rewards team at 800-288-9983, and they'll take a look to see when you can expect the card to arrive. You can also track your reward online through the Reward Center. Just enter your claim number or your account number and Zip code.

I am reaching out on this forum because all of my attempts via the phone have resulted in frustration and NO SOLUTION. As already stated, I have spent at least 6 hours on the phone with customer care/billing and the rewards center. I get bounced back and forth having to repeat my story each time with no help in site. I followed all of the instructions - I redeemed the rewards via the reward center website. I received claim #s, but no cards arrived. The cards were re-issued, still no cards arrived, one supervisor in billing was able to credit my account $50 and re-issue the remaining $200 in gift cards and yet, still no gift cards. I would appreciate someone contacting me to look into the history of my account and credit me the remaining $200. It is ridiculous that rewards promised at sign up should take going on 5 months, require multiple calls and hours spent on the phone, and then having to resort to a public forum to try to get a resolution.
