Extremely Desperate for Higher Speeds
I'm part of a family of five. My brother and I spend a lot of time doing online gaming while my younger brother enjoys watching YouTube videos. With a 25 Mbps plan, our ping tends to spike every time a video stream occurs at the same time we're gaming. I did some research the other day and found that a neighbor 1000 ft to the south of us has the 50 Mbps plan available but it cuts off right at our house. I had done some reading and saw that you can potentially negotiate for a higher plan with the sales team if you called the hotline, but my call got cut off last night right before I got to talk to a sales rep. All I'm asking for is the 50 Mbps plan because it would help my family and I immensely, especially considering that my mom is working from home now and needs to use the internet as well. Is there any possible measure that could be taken to extend the plan to my address? I'm open to any ideas. Also, there was a 45 Mbps plan available for a very short time at my address about 2-3 years ago but it disappeared after a few weeks. This leads to me believe we're still somewhat within the range of our nearest VRAD to be capable of receiving higher speeds.
Note: My dad is self-employed and runs a mechanic business out of a secondary garage at our house (which is approximately 50 ft away from the house). Would there be any way to have a line ran for his "business" and then use the line for residential purposes? Or even purchase a business plan and downgrade to a residential plan now that the line would be able to be ran?
I appreciate any sort of helpful response that can give me a better idea of what I'm working with, and when I say I'll do whatever it takes to get higher speeds, I mean it! *except for moving of course :)*
