Does using a Remote Desktop on the same network count towards data usage?

I'm using my 2nd laptop as a remote desktop. Does the bandwidth traffic from using it count towards data usage if both computers are on the same network? I plan to use it a lot and don't want to be surprised at the end of the month.

All your internet access data traffic goes through your gateway and thus counts.  So if your remote desktop is going through there then...surprise! Man Surprised

If you have uverse tv you don't have to worry about limits.

Hmm, I didn't phrase that correctly, sorry about that. I meant "data cap" specifically. I remember reading somewhere that streaming on your local network doesn't count towards the data cap. So I assume that would apply to a remote desktop, right? seeing as it's on a local network as well.

I would assume so.  Correct. It's only between the devices behind the gateway.
