Adventures with customer service: Lies, lies, lies
In July, I discovered my AT&T contract had expired and sought to renew it. I was quoted a pre-tax/fee price of around $125 for Internet 100/Uverse 200. When I received my bill in August, I discovered that this deal had not been applied. I called customer service and asked what had happened. They didn't know but agreed to honor the package I was offered. In September, the same exact thing happened, but this time they discounted the bill. Today, I received my bill -- still no package.
When I called to see whether that deal was still being applied, the best they could offer was $155. I declined and thought I'd try my luck via FB. I got a response and called a representative at her direct number. I got voicemail, but she did eventually call me back. She then proceeded to read a record of lies. Apparently, I had refused every package they offered me, including the lower priced options. (LOLz! ATT only knows upselling.) She mentioned multiple packages I had never heard of, despite my saying to every single rep that I did not want to change my Uverse package. Obviously, she didn't care that I had my own notes of these exchanges. I asked, "Why would I call every month like clockwork to find out why the bill was incorrect?" She, of course, was completely unable to answer.
Has anyone else encountered either of these issues: repeated failure to apply promotional package discount or completely inaccurate records?
Edit: In this case, the inaccurate records were not a mere mistake. The implication from the rep was that I was somehow lying.

{keep it courteous}
After being essentially called a liar this weekend, I cancelled my account. Strangely, despite being told I had no contract, there was magically an internet contract when I went to cancel. The price gouging is extraordinary.
Let's hope the FTC can do something about the cesspool that you are a part of.

I keep getting notifications asking if this was solved. No, it has not been.
AT&T committed fraud as far as I am concerned. The solutions offered thus far have been offensive, and again, I did not appreciate Angy A, a social media "specialist," essentially calling me a liar.
