25 mbps upgrade
Hello, I want to switch from Spectrum to At&T bundled internet and tv. The only thing holding me back is that my coverage area is still only 25 mbps for internet when I know most areas are at 50 mbps minimum. When will my area be getting the 50 mbps speed? I don't think I can switch without it happening. Address is:
***
Westlake, OH 44145
Thank you!

Hello @kevtro,
Thank you so much for reaching out to us in the Community Forums! I am pleased to hear you wish to start service with us, and we want to do what we can to get you the best speeds available. I would be more than happy to provide some more information on this!
We have a wonderful a resource online where you can enter your address and determine what coverage is available in your area. You can click here to see our coverage maps for all of our different services offered. We don’t have exact dates when service speeds will be increasing; however, we are always working to expand our service to provide the best coverage available.
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Why is you internet speed so low still? You guys really need to upgrade I've made the switch to spectrum due to the fact your speeds dont even compare to the standard speeds currently. The average house hold needs a minimum 100 mbps and in majority of my area your high speed internet is a joke only offering 25 mbps. What dictates when and where services are updated?

A couple years later and their internet is still extremely slow. In my area AT&T is the only internet provider I am able to get and the only plan they offer is AT&T 25 which is ridiculous. I wonder if they will ever upgrade but I highly doubt it and it (Edited per community guidelines) because I am forced to stay with them at least until I move.

While internet 25 may be the best offered at your current address, it is not the best available to your area (zip code).
FTTN or Fiber To The Node offers speeds from 100/20, 75/20, 50/10, 45/6, 25/5,25/2 depending on the facilities available and your copper distance after the fiber fed VRAD.
Use the online address checker to see what other addresses several blocks away have.
Internet 100/20 requires a BONDED pair service on K or N card with copper loop length under 1000 feet which is about 1.5 standard city blocks.
Internet 75/20 has the same requirements as 100/20 but is longer copper distance from 1000 feet to 1800 feet, or less than 3 blocks from the fiber source.
Internet 50/10 as single pair is the 1000 feet (note that internet 100/20 is (2) 50/10 combined at the gateway). If 50/10 is bonded pair then copper loop length is from 1800 feet to about 2700 feet ( just over 1/2 mile).
If your best speed is 25, is this a single pair service (broadband 1 only) or bonded pair (broadband 1 and 2).
Note that over 5000 feet FTTN drops to single pair IP-RT with best speed of 10/1.
Upgrade? Yes ATT has been upgrading select areas, most of the 15 million fiber addresses since 2016 are upgrades.... the current 2 year (2021-2022) expansion will also be upgrades. New construction developments are receiving fiber and limited ATT hardwired footprint where UVERSE internet is offered.
Note that 25% (over 3.8 million) of the fiber is located in MDUs which is apartment / condo complexes.
