Requesting change from SFD to MDU

Can anyone tell me the process/procedure for requesting my home be changed to a MDU? We have two families (in-law suite) at my location.

Are you saying we must have another physical address listed at the location before we can create a MDU? Thx

can be same address but must be listed as A or B or 1or2  like 5501-A and 5501-B

there will also need permits pulled, city county approval etc

Definitely start with local zoning, will need address rezoned to MDU, likely changing the tax status and rate.

Then contact your local insurance agency to cover both properties, and USPS to create the new address in their database.

Then can ask for an address validation case from ATT be opened to determine if the facilities exist to add a new service, needs both port(s) and pair(s) to the serving terminal.

OR... order internet service from a different ISP to provide service at the existing address. Two ISPs for same address requires no government or waiting. May include local cable company, satellite internet, fixed wireless or cellular hotspot.

Enter your zip code to find ISP by zip code that may service your address.

We are here to help with your inquiry on an MDU account, @ckader1,

Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU) accounts must have more than 4 different units within the same location. Two families would not qualify.

If you were able to separate your address into two physical address as they have suggest. We would be able to create a separate account. It would not be under an MDU.

Let us know if this information helps.

Ok, thanks. Yes, that helps. Not sure I will go that route do to taxing considerations (exemptions).  Thx for the response though.

Yeah seems cheaper and faster to just order another service provider for the granny
