Orange spray paint and flags on property (not in easement)

Came home to orange flags and spray paint on my lawn and my lawn only that go all the way up to my house (directly to my cable box). I don’t have art and didn’t request service. The markings are directly on top of my irrigation and I don’t see ‘hand dig’ signs. Any advice on how I can find out why att would need to dig in my yard all the way up to my home outside of an easement?

What makes you think ATT wants to dig? Anyone who needs to dig would request underground wires are marked.

Who says it is ATT?

811 local locators came out and marked existing service(s).

Unknown who created the request which could have been your local cable company planning on replacing or upgrading the coax service if underground.

edit… locators do not mark irrigation or invisible dog fences, only utilities. You would need to mark any other underground service(s).

The locator service request may have been for a different address, can happen when say place and street or other are used such as 16th Street and 16th Place.

Recommend contacting the locator company for who placed the request.

811 is the national call-before-you-dig phone number. Anyone who plans to dig should call 811 or go to their state 811 center's website before digging to request that the approximate location of buried utilities be marked with paint or flags so that you don't unintentionally dig into an underground utility line.

The flags said AT&T and there was no other info or other services marked so I assumed it was for them. I will call and see who else may be doing work there! Thanks!

The flag markings indicate who owns the buried wires, not who is doing the digging.
