IP addresses
My laptop is connected to the internet and working fine.. .. I can get online and all works good... my question is about the
IP address... In my gateway router, this laptop's IP address shows that it is not connected and the status is "OFF"
my main laptop can't see this other laptop on the Home network and i'm thinking that is the problem... How do you
get the IP address to show connected and the status to be "ON" I tried disabling the adapter and then rebooting the
computer and then connecting to the internet again and Still it shows Disconnected in the router settings...
thanks

Hi There @Mamacat104
We can try to help you with your problem.
Let's try to attack this from another direction.
Let's to reset the gateway. Please follow these simple steps:
That should change the IP addresses to ON.
The other thing that we can think about is using is: Static IP's, for an additional charge of 15$ for a block of 8 IPs. With Statics should be able to network the two lap-tops together.
If there is anything else that we can do for you, please let us know.

I have unplugged the gateway several times with no change.. I didn't do the phone line.. so will unplug it also and see what happens... Seems like they would have a way to turn a status to on or off... it used to be on and all was working good then suddenly it changed.. what would cause it to suddenly to to status OFF... seems as if there should be a reason for it...
if this done work.. Will just let it be.. I have a new wireless printer that at the moment is working right.. ... the other printer is working if you use it from the laptop that is showing a status OFF for it's IP address .. I just can no longer network them together.. they have been networked for at least 10 years and now suddenly no longer can network them..
I will try unplugging the gateway and the landline phone line and wait and then plug back in.. and PRAY this don't mess up and I lose my wireless printer too again... I will NOT be happy if that happens.. I use my printer and do not want to lose access to it from my laptop... and it needs to remain wireless used because my laptop and printer are not in the same room..
thanks
