Internet not available but neighbors have it?

So we live in a rural area, our neighbor's next to us and across the street have internet service. We spoke with a technician that installed it today across the street to verify and because we live on the corner and have a different street name we do not qualify. It's not an issue of being beyond the end of the loop as our home is closer to the line than the neighbors across the street. I actually ran over the line mowing our property when we first moved in, that's how close it is. But due to our house face the opposite street and having that street name on our address we apparently do not qualify for service. If we had the same street name as our neighbors it wouldn't be an issue apparently. Really wanting to see if there's anything that can be done about this as it looks like it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Copper may be in place, but in many places once you remove the POTS lines or DSL that ran on these service they can't be replaced.  Think what you want, but those are the facts.   Even fiber is loosing ground in some areas where wireless is the preferred method. If you do a little fact checking you'll find large areas being given the OK to abandon analog copper service by the FCC.  Just because you type in all caps, (equates to shouting on forums) doesn't make you right. From the FCC from the Chicago Tribune and yet another article on the phasing out of POTS service.  A little time researching prior to posting would help with the credibility of what you post.  One last thing, this is a customer populated forum, not AT&T support, there is no you.

@SPOOM2 -[EDITED] THAN REMOVING SOFTWARE SUPPORT FOR 2-WIRE INID/DSL GATEWAYS FOR VDSL TWISTED PAIR OVER COAX COPPER INFRASTRUCTURE  IS REMOVING THE POTS COPPER ALTOGETHER WHEN FIBER IS NOT BEING MOBILIZED. AND TO NEGLECT FIBER IS BEYOND M---E---N---T---A---L---L---Y---I---N---S---A---N---E---!

AND WHO PREFERS WIRELESS? CLEARLY I THINK WIRELESS [EDITED] ACROSS THE GRID UNLESS WE ARE SPEAKING OF ONE'S OWN PROPER TEN TO TWELVE FOOT PARABOLIC SATELLITE DISH ANTENNA WITH MULTI-FUNCTION C/KA/KU BAND FEEDHORNS FOR FREQUENCIES FROM 3GHZ TO 40GHZ THAT COULD EASILY RUN A TRIPLE PLAY PHONE/INTERNET/SATTV PACKCAGE AND SIMULTANEOUSLY RUN AT&T/DIRECTV OUT OF BUSINESS, [EDITED]

You're not worth the key strokes.  Twisted pair over coax? Really up on your technologies.
