Internet 18 to Internet 100 Upgrade

Hello, my family and I were thinking about upgrading our existing internet 18 plan to the internet 100 DSL plan. I saw somewhere that you only need a technician to come out for the first installation above 18mbs plan, so i was wondering IF my family were to do this would a technician have to come out? We have installed the modem before, so that is not an issue.

the tech visit ensures your drops can support the upgrade. If you install the modem and your wiring does not support the increase then it would be a charge after the fact. I suggest you let them come out and there would be no charge.

Don't do it. On the 18 plan we had no buffering ,with the 100  we do. They claim its faster them why are we getting buffering now.

Hi @Gfemal, we are happy to help with your buffering issue.

 

First, let's try some fast fixes to speed up your Wi-Fi.

  • Reset the modem
  • Move electronics away from the modem
  • Turn off devices not in use

If the above does not work, try the following:

Optimize your settings

  1. Sign in to Smart Home Manager
  2. Once signed in, scroll to the "Let's Scan for Better Wi-Fi"
  3. Select "Scan Now"

It's a great ideal to conduct a internet speed test to see where you stand for internet speeds received.
