Installing an ethernet wall jack

I'm moving into an older house that apparently has no ethernet wall jacks.   Does AT&T provide installation service and if so, what is the cost?  Does wireless require a wall jack? Thanks in advance.

We are here to help you with getting your service installed, Javajunkie001.

Here is more information on if your address does not have a jack for your internet.

The key points from this article:

  • Yes you can get service at the address you are moving into
  • The cost for a new jack will be 99 because this will be for wires and drilling

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you for choosing AT&T.

In answer to your question, will an AT&T installer provide point-to-point Ethernet runs throughout your house, the answer is NO.

They will generally not fish through walls.  They will make runs necessary to establish service, e.g. if you have an ONT that goes on an outside wall and a Gateway somewhere else, they'll run that Ethernet cable for you.  They'll bring the VDSL2 or Fiber into your house where your Gateway goes.  But they won't make your Ethernet runs to all your rooms for you.

For that, look for a local low-voltage electrician.
