I have had AT&T internet for six months - it broke today

When visiting various websites, I get a message that says “attlocal.net’s server DNS address could not be found”

What does that mean and why isn’t my internet working and when will it be fixed?

I rebooted router and whatever you call that horrible thing - oh yeah, the “residential gateway” and it is still doing the same thing.

I’d just like for my internet to work and to be able to get on Amazon and other websites.

Thanks,

Some possible things to try:

  • Reboot your computer.
  • Reboot the gateway by pulling plug for 15 secs. and letting it fully reboot.
  • Change the DNS setting in your computer's network settings.  Try OpenDNS (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) or google DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).
