I don't have a Broadband wall jack

To use my wifi do I have to have a Boardband wall jack if I've connected it to my charter cable box, or would I have to get my old wall jack fixed to use it?

We can certainly help with this, @Thai!

AT&T Internet does require an Ethernet jack in your wall. This will be how your Gateway connects to our network, which will then let you connect to the internet through Wi-Fi.

If you don’t have an active wall jack or need a new one installed, one of our technicians can install them for you.

Let us know if you have other questions, @Thai!

I do not have a AT&T broadband port, I just have regular ports. Will the technician install one when he comes? Can that be done in one day?

You only need to post once per issue.

How much does this cost to have the technician install ports? We are needing two more ports in our home.

Ports for what?  You mean running cable from your router to an 8pin jack in your house?  If so contact a low voltage contractor, cheaper than AT&T most likely.

We need hardwired internet in two rooms upstairs. We have ATT hardwired in an office downstairs. Wondering if ATT will be more expensive than a local contractor. Local contractors are telling me 500-800$ range.

Call AT&T and see what they charge per hour, they may not even do it.  100 bucks an hour sounds about right for low voltage contractors.   Might give Best Buy's geek squad a shot if there's one in your area.

I got my internet modem last Friday and it was supposed to be hooked up yesterday,  but no one called or came by to install a new wall jack so I can get connected.

Can I get a technician to come by today and get us up and running?

If your modem was shipped to you, that normally means you were expected to be able to self-install.  Posting here will likely not get you timely results.  If you need a technician, I'd suggest calling 1-800-288-2020.  If you haven't already been billed an installation charge, this will definitely get you one.
