Hitting a dead end

We are trying to move next door, we live in a rural area and we're moving into a home that had previous internet service before it flooded. We already pay for Internet service through AT&T at the home we are moving from, it is located exactly 200 yards to the right of the property we were moving to. Both homes are located on the same property we share the same driveway. Online it shows that there is no service available to the property which of course is false because it uses the same exact telephone pole where the lines are located. We cannot seem to get AT&T to send a text out to even assess the situation. I have spent hours on the phone trying to explain the situation. I need help I need to speak to someone it is not interested in trying to sell new equipment and therefore has no use for me because their computer says we cannot get service to our area. They do not seem to understand that we already have service. I am so frustrated.

I believe we have DSL. I wonder why after 2 and 1/2 hours of being on the
phone they couldn't just tell me something like that? Thank you for the
information I really do appreciate it.

If you're moving "next door" seems to me the service could just stay on the same feed and swing the drop from the new house to the old pair.  Seems simple enough, but maybe that's the problem.

I also feel like that's all that needs to happen but I don't happen to own
a pair of hooks to climb that pole LOL and I don't think I'm up to the
shimmy 🙂
And they really are refusing to send a tech. I was on the phone for an hour
and a half to a really nice guy told me the good news was we can have
someone out there the bad news was it would take a week. I said that was
not bad news at all that that would be perfectly fine. Then no one ever
showed up. When I called yesterday to check the status, and they all said
that it was canceled but no one told me that- I feel like I at least
deserved a phone call. I spoke to three different people all of them said
we're sorry that happened to you but internet service is just not available
in your area yet. Frustrated is putting it mildly.

Unfortunately we live in a time where if it's not in the book it can't be so.  Common sense  seems to be dead, but all us old fogies say that, some day you will too. I still have the hooks, but not the knees.
