Extend wifi using Apple Extreme

Hi, I have AT&T uverse Tv and internet at highest available speed of like 45 mb and need to extend the range of the wifi. The att modem/router is Pace model # 5268AC and my apple router model # is A1521.

Whats best way to extend the wifi range using the Extreme - can I wirelessly connect both routers or do I need to bypass att router and just use Apple router?

I have an older model Airport Extreme in a similar configuration and mine does not appear to allow a wireless connection to the internet router. If you can great!

Let me explain my configuration first:

The AT&T provided 5268AC is connected to the internet via DSL as yours would. I have connected my Airport Extreme via an Ethernet cable, a Gigabit connection. While I have the capability to have two WiFi networks, I chose to disable the WiFi on the 5268AC because I had some interoperability issues with my Apple devices and an older model AT&T router/gateway which forced me to the Airport Extreme. Why change what works.

My Airport Extreme is configured as a standard Network Address Translation router, uses DHCP, and has a network hard drive for Time Machine out the USB port. Yes, I have a double NAT network and it works just fine.

I have the 5268AC running a 192.168.1.0 Class C network and my Airport Extreme runs a 192.168.64.0 Class C network.

Your network:

I, personally, would not use bridge mode. If you want to and can connect to the 5268AC via WiFi that is your choice and dependent on what kind of range you want. The differences in latency between WiFi is almost immaterial considering you're going across a much slower internet connection.

You cannot bypass 5268AC.
