Dishonesty
We recently established Uverse service at our residence with the understanding that we would have the highest speed so that I can work from home. We were assured it was the highest speed possible and when the tech came out he informed us that's not what they were installing. We have talked to several different representatives and cannot resolve this issue and are having to discontinue service. unfortunately we live in a town where no other internet is offered. What's odd is that other homes as well as businesses next door have higher speed Uverse yet we are told we are "in an area that doesn't offer it"... With the corona virus being the way it is it was really important to work from home so not to expose our three children. Being that I work in healthcare, i am at a much higher risk at contracting this virus and taking it home. An opportunity has presented itself to work from home and now I have been robbed of this bc AT&T refuses to help resolve this issue. In fact they would rather see us cancel service and threaten to charge us $150 for a modem if we don't ship it back even though the one shipped to us didn't work and the TECH had to give us one than to take a different approach and maybe help us establish higher speeds in our area further upping the possibility of more potential customers in the future (in the event there are others in our same situation). This is a huge issue. I'm tempted to take this to the media! Of all the times not to try and help someone.. during a pandemic? wow at&t uverse! just wow!

If you cancel, you will have to send the modem back to AT&T since it is leased and belongs to them.
