Arris NVG599 Passthrough Setup for Eero Pro 6E
I have the Internet working on the Eero Pro 6E and I have passthrough setup. Do I need to change anything? Speedtests show 90mbps but downloads are slow for files and only reaching about 26mbps. I can't tell for sure if the Eero is giving out the IP addresses or it the Arris is: This is my ip address connected to the Eero. Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::8d0b:bf7:c92:d78c%4
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.4.24
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.252.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::6697:14ff:fe16:6db2%4
192.168.4.1
but on the IP Allocation tab, it shows this: 192.168.1.64 / eero

Hi JefferMC,
I did a few things with the same results.
1. I checked the computer download speed plugged into the Arris NVG LAN ports, which of course is a different network since it is not using the Eero at all. I checked this with and without the power on the Eeros. That should not have a made a difference, but I did it anyhow. Same speed result on that computer. Speed tests show like 99 mbps+ on speed sites like Xfinity; AT&T and others. Actual download speeds in real-life file downloads are still only 26mbps or so not using any Wi-fi or Eero but a 1 GB Ethernet card plugged into the NVG599. I disabled the wi-fi on the NVG599 and the Eeros were off.
I also reset the NVG599 to be the router/gateway and tested without any Eero powered-on. I tested again with the same computer as above and using only the 1GB Ethernet connection. The same result, the Website speed tests show anywhere from 70mbps to 90mbps+, but the actual download speeds are still only 26mps ish.
so i'm guessing that there is throttling going on.
BTW, When using the speed test from within Smart Manager, It cannot see that the Eero is the Gateway.
Something on the bill is strange. Shows Internet Basic 6 when I click on the "See Usage details" section for the Internet 100 in the picture above. This shows when I click on it:

I reset everything back to IP Passthrough on the NVG599 and the Eero is again set to be the router and Gateway. It does not appear to me that this is an Eero configuration problem as the same results were duplicated with the reset of the NVG599 to factory settings and the Eero's were all reset to factory and left unplugged from everything and turned-off and left off.

FWIW, my account sometimes shows Internet Basic 6. Other times it shows Gigabit 1000. Just another example of the dumpster fire that is the att.com website. It's definitely not part of your issue.

I have seen others report a bad service name on the AT&T page. As long as your bill is correct, and your sync rate is correct, ignore weirdness on the AT&T page. Likewise, the "Smart" Home Manager speed test doesn't give two wits about your eero router; it's using "Wi-Fi Gateway" as a generic term to mean your NVG599 and it's not able to get it to run a speed test. I'm wondering if that's because it's an NVG599 and not one of the newer types (5268AC, BGW210, BGW320).
Have you, ever, using any mechanism, gotten a download rate of more than 24 Mbps from this site? How?
Have you ever tried downloading a Linux system image ISO, or a Windows image ISO just to see how fast that goes?

Yes, in the Smart Manager, it would show 99 sometimes. I don't think that Smart Manager is able to see the Eero gateway. Here is the Arris NVG599 status page:

The Eero's WAN IP is the same as the Arris NVG 599 IP Passthrough address.
the Eero's Gateway IP address is 192.168.4.1
The Eero APp shows that DNS is 192.168.1.254 (which is the Arris Nvg599).
WAN type is listed as DHCP
There is also a tab in the Eero app for ISP settings: including DHCP and Uplink VLAN Tag. DHCP is on for that. Uplink VLAN Tag is off.
DHCP & NAT are set to Automatic in the app
ISP DNS is set to 192.168.1.254 (Arris NVG 599)
That's pretty much all of the network settings on the Eero.
