WiFi in our rural home is very slow! Any advice?

We’ve tried many different WiFi devices and services and none seem to do the job. Our WiFi is so slow it’s like we’re not even on WiFi. Is there any portable devices that can help or different types? Our TV works perfectly fine but the WiFi is terrible on our phones!? We FaceTime a lot with our out of state family and always find “reconnecting” or “call failed” when using FaceTime. I would love to be able to check on my family on Facebook and FaceTime them but this WiFi is not helping. Any advice and would buying mifi work?

Learn about the factors that can affect Internet speed, @Ruralfamily.

We have steps that you can take to get the most out of your Internet service. Remember every connected device in your home uses some of your internet speed.

  • Having many devices connected to your home Internet at the same time.
  • Doing multiple things that use a lot of Internet speed at the same time, like streaming, gaming, video-conferencing, and downloading large files.
  • Connecting to Wi-Fi®. Using a wired connection tends to be faster.

Learn how to optimize your internet speeds, select your model from the drop down menu. Let us know if this is helpful, we are happy to provide further assistance.
