Why is AT&T Fixed Wireless for Business still slow after three weeks

I've just been told by Darcey at the AT&T Fixed Wireless Technical Support center that there has been an ongoing problem with the service for three weeks. He tells me the ticket for this issue is AL25446397. He said the "AT&T Experts" have been working to resolve the issue (for three weeks) and there is nothing more he can do. He refused to escalate the issue to someone technical and refused to connect me with AT&T Customer Service.

Minutes later I spoke with Phillip via the online chat support facility. He told me that ticket L25446397 (Darcey gave an extra letter on the ticket number) was for an outage but it had been resolved.

If I speak with a third AT&T staff, will I get a third response?

@thebillmania,

What speeds are you getting and how many devices do you have connected?

@ATTChrisZ If you provide an E-mail address, I can send my measurement log. I've been measuring every 30 minutes since 12 Jan 2020, using the speedtest CLI.

Unfortunately I'm not able to provide that.

Feel free to reply back with the answers to my questions. Once I have that, I can see what we can do. Also, let me know what is around your modem - modem environment can impact speeds.

There are two wired and one wireless hosts connected to the Arris device.

The Fixed Wireless antenna power supply and a network switch are near the Arris device. All of that equipment is on a shelf at eyeball height.

This is the log for the past day and a half. These measurements were made from a host with a wired connection to the Arris device. The first column is the timestamp in PST, the second is download Mbps, and the third is upload Mbps. The measurements are made between the same wired host at my end and mobspeedtest006.npm.mobile.att.net:8080 at the remote end. If you provide a place where I can deposit the log, I can provide data back to 12 Jan 2020.

Sorry for the delay @thebillmania.

I pulled the data and placed it in excel. Your average download speed for the duration of the test is 15.24. Your upload is 3.25. There were 4 instances were speed were 5 instances where speeds were under 9Mbps.

Fixed Wireless is designed to get at least 10Mbps and up to 25Mbps, with uploads of 1Mbps.

Based on your results, your speed is within the range. Your upload is actually higher than the 1Mbps.

If there is another item I am missing, let me know.
