What Causes Internet Connection Dropping?
I'm currently using the bgw320, but I'm experiencing issues with my internet connection dropping frequently. I've searched on Google, but couldn't find a solution yet. Although I've contacted the AT&T representatives, they couldn't identify any issue and are suggesting me to replace the Ont for the third time. However, I'm reluctant to go through the hassle of replacement. Whenever I inquire about any information in the event log, the representatives seem to have difficulty understanding my query.

There have been many reports of the BGW320's restarting multiple times per day. Many customer found that they did not have a physical line issue but an Internet traffic issue due to IPv6 settings. If you don't know what IPv6 is or don't have a specific need for IPv6 you can disable it. It sounds like you have already replace the BGW320 one and did the tech indicate you had no physical line issues?
It is quick and easy to test if this fixes your issue. Connect your BGW320 using the default link and just turn off IPv6, Save the change and restart your BGW320. Link: http://192.168.1.254/cgi-bin/ip6lan.ha You will be prompted for your Access Code which is printed on the back of the BGW320.
Note: the issue appears to be Internet bots scanning your system to exploit DDoS attacks causing the BGW320 to restart. AT&T has release a new Firmware level 4.21.5 that may have also fixed the problem. You can verify if you have Firmware 4.2.5 already by checking this link: http://192.168.1.254/cgi-bin/sysinfo.ha
