This site can't be reached.

I do allot of web work and for the past few days I continue to get "This site can't be reached" error and I have to retype the full URL again. Can anyone tell me what I have to do?

We'd be glad to help you improve your browsing experience, jkosoglow!

A common solution to this error message is clearing your browser cache and cookies. Clearing the cache and cookies ensures that your browser is using the settings designed for the website. You'll also want to try using a different browser.

We also suggest flushing the DNS cache. Sometimes, for various reasons, the DNS cache becomes corrupt or simply malfunctions. The symptoms vary, but the most common is that you can’t get to some websites to load.

Follow these steps to flush your DNS cache on Windows:

  1. Open Run/Search “CMD” to launch command line and type the following:
  2. ipconfig /flushdns
  3. C:\> ipconfig /flushdns

You should see:

Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

C:\>

You can get more information about what could be causing this and how to resolve it by reading our help and solutions article that covers the subject of websites not loading.

Let us know if you need further assistance!
