Streaming stops when microwave is in use

Hello all! I have At&t select wi-fi. Whenever I use my microwave, streaming stops or goes in and out. Anyone know what I can do to stop this, besides not using my microwave? LOL

You do not list the equipment your using…

But most microwave use 2.4 GHz channel 9.

If your streaming device(s) are connected to the 2.4Ghz wireless May want to access the gateway and manual lock the channel to a low channel (1-6)

The Wi-Fi is a bell shape using 5 channels example channel 6 would cover 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. While channel 9 would be 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

Also recommend moving the gateway away from the microwave area, try moving 8 to 10 feet away or more. This may require purchasing a longer data cable such as 25 ft.

If an older microwave with poor shielding May need to purchase a new unit.

Dear Aminah,

Do you mean a new microwave, a new roku, or a new router?

Thank you!

We're referring to their suggestions to access your gateway and manually lock the channel, move the gateway away from the microwave, and visiting the link they provided, Beckstergirl.

You mention at the end of your post "if a microwave with poor shieldng, you may need to purchase a new unit",

By new unit, do you mean a new microwave, a new streaming device, or a new router?

Thank you.

You may want to try tagging the Employee, Beckstergirl, to increase your chances of getting a response from them. You can do that by putting the @ symbol in front of their name.

We assume they were referring to your microwave. We also suggest reaching out to the manufacturer of the microwave, if you only have trouble with your service when you're near it.
