Setting Up a Wi-Fi Camera - The Basics
Port Forwarding with AT&T
If you need to setup Port Forwarding to view your camera from home, or other smart devices, our Port Forwarding How-To page will guide you through the steps for the modem you have.
All you need to do is
- Choose your modem
- Follow the prompts
Wi-Fi Camera Set-Up
AT&T cannot help setup your Wi-Fi Cameras but do not fear, most cameras are easy to install and do not require Port Forwarding. I recently set up my Wi-Fi Camera by connecting it to Wi-Fi and setting up the App it came with.
Heads Up: If the app is not working, uninstall and reinstall the app. Test on a different device.
Port Forwarding Troubleshooting
If your camera is not working or you are not able to access certain sites, restart your router by pressing the red button for 5 seconds and try accessing your camera/ site again.
If you still are unable to view or set up your cameras, reboot the modem by pressing and holding the red reset button for 30 seconds and setup/ port forwarding again. Resetting will wipe all personalized settings.
If you are still having trouble
- Check the companies site or forums for set up information
- Check out the instructions that come with your device
- Consider using an In-Home Expert
If you are new to the world of Port Forwarding or networking in general and having trouble, we recommend contacting an In-Home Expert. Keep in mind, most cameras are easy to set up so following their instructions is recommended.
