Outlook and att mail

When at office I use Outlook for receiving and sending emails. But with Covid I accessed email through on my personal computer. Questions:

1. is there a setting on the internet mail to keep the emails on the server for more than 1 month? I just went to the internet and all it has is September emails.

2. If I access mail on internet does it then remove that email from coming to Outlook?

3. Supposedly I was sent email on June 17, 2020 but it is not in Outlook and I can not see earlier than September on the internet.

We know that losing emails is frustrating, we can help resolve this, @ncf

The most common reason for older emails being deleted is a client, such as Outlook, being configured to POP3 rather than IMAP.

The way this typically works when a client is configured with POP3 is Outlook, in this case, will keep your old emails but after a certain amount of time will delete them from the server (webmail) so they can usually still be found in Outlook but not online.

When a client is configured with IMAP - the client and webmail will match each other. So nothing gets auto-deleted from the server.

Accessing the email online should not prevent the email from going to Outlook. We do have a webmail recovery request but it only recovers the last seven days, so it will not help in this situation.

If you would like to change your Outlook from POP3 to IMAP, you can learn more about each one on our AT&T Email Server Settings page.
