Internet Speed while watching TV
I have UVerse Internet, TV, and phone. Is the bandwidth allocation for these separate or combined? I ran a speed test with the TV off (using ATT's speed test) and got one number. I turned on the TV and got about 6Mbps less.
I was surprised at that. It is repeatable. I'm assuming that the TV is stealing bandwidth from my Internet connection. I also assume if I multiple channels being watched (recording on DVR or multiple TVs) it will be even worse.
Any insite would be appreciated.

You didn't mention what High Speed Internet speed that you subscribe to. It would also help you to know what your connection profile is between your Residential Gateway (RG) in your home and the neighborhood VRAD. You can either go to your TV to the Menu > Options > System Options > Network and see this (and your SD/HD stream profile), or you can go to http://192.168.1.254/ (your RG), navigate to the Broadband tab and look at your sync rates.

That is what I thought. Thank you for the information. I have 18M Internet service. It's just nice to know how things work.

What I don't get is that we have to pay extra for each box. If I order 4 boxes is because I intend to watch TV in 4 places, so I should be given more bandwidth for each box.
I don't see why why I have to sacrify one in favor of the other.
