I cannot ping any device in my network

I have the ARRIS BGW210-700.

I cannot ping internal IP's. I can ping the modem/router's address From any device on my network I cannot ping any other device on the network. And I cannot ping either. 

I have gone Firewall / Advanced Firewall and set all the ICMP blocking to "Off" to no avail.

We can provide helpful tips to find solutions to your ping concerns, @swardet.


First, we recommend that you try to reboot your Wi-Fi gateway. This is a common fix to most network concerns.


Here are steps to reboot your gateway:

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have: 
    An internal battery backup, remove it
    DSL, unplug the phone cord from your modem or gateway
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Put the internal battery back in if you have one. 
  • Plug the power cord back in. If you have DSL service, reconnect the phone cord.
  • Wait up to 10 minutes for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green.

Finally, we recommend that you use the AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve tool to help you know what is happening on your network.
