When attempting to modify the SSID and PW's for your PACE 5268AC router/modem, all the directions below are correct. However the first steps to take on your PC is to turn off the wireless network connnection and attach an ethernet cable from your PC to the PACE router/modem. I used port #1, but I believe any one of the 4 will work. As the wireless connection between your router and your PC are open network access the rotuter will not bring up the Admin Page at http://192.168.1.254 when you are connnected via wireless.
Note: you may be required to enter your Device Access Code in order to continue. The default Device Access Code can be found on the side of your gateway (this is not the same as your Wi-Fi password).

@FTE-Level3 Same for all 2wire/Pace/Arris RGs, earlier ones say wireless stead of Wi-Fi in the LAN. Then have Network (assuming User). 😉

The model 5268AC model is *dual band*, and the configuration page mentioned above has *two* sections for Wi-Fi settings, one for the 2.4Ghz band and the other for the 5Ghz band.
Should I use the same SSID name for each Wi-Fi band or use different names? If I use the exact same SSID name and password for both, will my laptop and smartphone see just one network, and will they "auto-negotiate" and choose the "best" band (i.e. 5Ghz)?
Thanks,
Jack
