email

I can no longer hover over an email sender's name to see who actually sent the email, as I have been able to do since day one. All it shows me now is a bunch of unintelligible text. That makes it a whole lot harder to spot spam and scams.

We're happy to help, @lhaff.

Try troubleshooting your email account, then see if you're able to see the information of the sender. If you require further assistance, let us know.

@ATTHelp Thanks for your response, but I saw nothing there relating to my problem.

@lhaff.

Are you using it on a web browser? If so we'd recommend trying it on different browsers, devices, or apps to see if the feature isn't working on any of them. You could also try reverting your email to Basic Mail. To do this, select Basic Mail via the Gear Icon > Settings > Viewing E-mail > Select Basic Mail > Click Save. While Basic Mail has fewer features, it may have what you're looking for.

Let us know if this helps!

It's the same on Firefox and Chrome, on multiple computers. I wanted to go back to Basic Mail but can't find a way to do it. I have no "Viewing E-mail" choice under Settings, only Theme, Message layout, Inbox spacing and Message tabs.

Do you know if something happened that caused your screen resolution to get smaller? That along with if your browser version doesn't support the normal version, your email likely got defaulted into basic mail already, and the email sender pop-up may not actually be a feature of basic mail.

Have you tried seeing if it may be getting blocked by some kind of pop-up blocker?

We look forward to your response!

Nothing's changed that I know of, other than possibly an update to yahoomail not long ago. I'm not on basic mail as far as I know. I'm using firefox 74.0. It's not a popup, just a line of text in the lower left corner of the page when I hover over the sender's name in my inbox. That used to show the sender's email address, but now just a long line of text beginning with "https://mail.yahoo.com/d/1/folders/messages.........." Can you not see that in your webmail?
