difficulty in running wi-fi test from Samsung galaxy s10+

hi,

i just downloaded Smart Home Manager to my Samsung Galaxy S10+, i wanted to run the wi-fi test to find any gaps in my coverage (this was a suggestion on MY ATT following a speedtest). I'm connected to the net via my wifi, right next to it actually. there are nine other household items connected. my speedtest results were download 4mbps, upload 1.68mbps latency 32ms. when i sign into SHM from my Samsung and select Tools the Wifi test, it tells me "You are not on your main wifi network, please connect and try again". i have only one wifi network which i am connected to. I restarted both my gateway and phone. I'm not using any type of routers. any suggestion or advice would be welcome.

Good Morning! @Al_b_sure

The SMH(Smart Home Manger) is a great way to see your gaps in your WIFI. We can help resolve this issue.

Like the error says"Your are not connected to your main network.", it is telling you that the network that your phone is connected to is not correct.

Now the router your router actually  has 3 networks, a 2.4ghz, a 5ghz. and a "guest" network.  Check the network name on your phone to see if you are corrected to either the 2.4 or 5ghz network or the "guest". The difference between the networks is that the "guest" has a "_guest" after it".

If you are connected to the "guest" network then you will need to disconnect from that network and join either the 2.4 or 5ghz networks and try running the test again.

Try that first, and let us know.

Matthew thanks again. I brought up the router home page (AT&T Uverse) and saw my S10+ was connected to the 5ghz network, several other devices on the 2.4ghz network and guest network was off.
i brought up SHM and voila wifi test working. Not sure what happened, possibly some sort of network optimization? Anyway, there is a wealth of great info there which i hadn't known about.

Appreciate you and your effort
