Thanks Illinois sue. I am rally not fond of going in and changing the DNS settings. It worked for two hours yesterday without me turning off routers or cup hanging settings. So why should I play around with all that now

Do we have any idea how many people are affected by this outage?

In an indication of how frustrated I am, I've begun tweeting them.  Ugh.

Yeah I have been doing that too @attcares. Yeah right. I just got a a twitter message a few min ago from my 4th message last night and it says the same old garbage

There is a Facebook issue affecting multiple ppl w/different internet service providers ¬ an AT&T U-verse related specific issue. ^NessaG

I've been having the same problem for about a week.  One time, a reboot of the gateway seemed to help, but maybe that was random as it has not again.  This happens to every device in my house, so it is not unique to one computer.  And, if I use wifi hotspot on my phone instead of UVerse the problem goes away.  Uverse told me, as you guys have said, that this is a known FB problem and they have reported it.  They claim it affects multiple ISP's (but apparently not their own wireless carrier).  FYI, if I copy & paste the URL to a picture and paste that into a seperate browser window, I get a "connection reset" message.

I'm getting pretty frustrated as this has been going on for like a week, and I'm using up all of my data plan on my phone trying to do anything in FB.

I've also notified FB with no response from them.

If this continues with no resolution or acknowledgement that someone is working toward a resolution, I may have to seriously consider dropping uverse.

The problem isn't just with Facebook. Even this very message board sometimes won't load all the way for me. I have narrowed down the problem to an IPv4 routing issue. When I plug directly into the uverse modem and disable IPv6 on my laptop things start going very wrong. If I reenable IPv6 on my laptop everything starts working again. I can do a "tracert facebook.com" with both setups and I can clearly see that different routes are chosen depending on whether I have an IPv4 or IPv6 address. There is a router somewhere on ATT's IPv4 network that is blocking a lot of internet traffic. ATT, something is WRONG with your network.

Indeed while FB seems to be the worst affected, I've had timeouts with everything from Google to youtube lately.  I just got off my 15th chat with them, and they know nothing but tell me to "rest assured" they're on it.  Why did i resolve yesterday for several hours?

I'm ready to dump ATT too.  This is ridiculous.

Here is my tracert to Facebook that is currently failing. One of these routers is blocking my traffic.

I went on chat and got the company line "The Internal Team is working on the issue and you will be notified when it is resolved. Rest be assured, your issue will be resolved as soon as possible."

If it is not an AT&T Issue why is the internal team working on it?

I said this is a multi state many customer issue.

I also asked for credit for the time there was an issue. Here is the response: "Once the issue is resolved you will be credited on it. I will also make a note to the billing team and see that you are not charged" We'll see how that works out. I saved a copy of the chat.

I also asked for a timeline. "I am sorry to say that we are not having an estimated time about the issue. Rest assured your issue will be resolved today for sure."

So they don't have an estimated time frame, but it will be resolved today? Interesting.

I suggest everyone go on chat and ask for a credit for the time it has been down. Then make sure to e-mail yourself a transcript of the chat to use as proof to try to get it.

So I do not understand all that tracing stuff.... Does this means all the unable to connect to Facebook is an att issue not a Facebook. Thanks for any info you can give me. Been dealing with this garbage for 5 days now and I am literally getting a migraine as I write this

I'd like them to pay the overage charges on my AT&T Wireless bill, since I have to use my wifi hotspot to be able to use Facebook!  And, fixed today?  yeah, it's been down for like a week, I wouldn't hold my breath.

There is nothing really wrong with this traceroute.  If there were, then it would be in the tfbnw.net network, which is apparently part of the Facebook network, so...
